Privacy Policy

gigbrain is a songbook for chords, lyrics and setlists. It is run by Pascal Zuta. This page explains what the app stores, why, and who else sees it.

What we store

  • Your email address. It is your account. We use it only to send you sign-in codes. We do not send newsletters or marketing.
  • What you put in your songbook. Song titles, artists, chord sheets and lyrics, notes, BPM, duration, capo and transpose settings, setlists and their order, and any file you upload with a song.
  • A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in for a year.

The app has no ads. It does not use your location, contacts, photos or microphone.

Who else sees it

  • OpenAI receives the text of a chord sheet you paste, or a song title and artist, to identify the song and look up its tempo and length.
  • Music catalogues (Deezer, Apple's iTunes Search, MusicBrainz, SongBPM and LRCLIB) receive a song's title and artist to find its tempo, length and lyric timing. They never receive your email or your chord sheets.
  • Paddle sells Pro on the website. When you buy Pro, Paddle receives your email address, country and payment details to take the payment and charge sales tax. gigbrain never sees your card number. Paddle's own privacy notice applies to the purchase.
  • Resend delivers the sign-in emails, so it receives your email address and the code.
  • Cloudflare hosts the app, its database and its file storage.
  • HeyCatch measures how the website and the iPhone app are used: which pages are opened and clicked, the browser and device type, and the country worked out from the IP address. Once you sign in, it also receives your account ID and email address so visits can be linked to your account. It never receives your songs, chord sheets or setlists.

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Your songbook is kept until you delete it or your account. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes.

Deleting your account

In the app, open the account button at the top right and choose Delete account. This deletes your account and every song, setlist, note and uploaded file in it straight away. If you share a songbook with someone, only your sign-in is removed and the songbook stays for them. You can also email support@get-gigbrain.com and we will do it for you.

Children

gigbrain is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
