- Do I still have to learn the songs?
- You still play and sing. gigbrain shows which chord comes where, in time.
- Does gigbrain come with songs?
- No. You paste in your own chord sheets or import your Ultimate Guitar playlists.
- How does it know the tempo?
- gigbrain finds the title and artist, then looks up the recording's tempo and length in public music catalogues. You can change any of it.
- What if the song has no timed lyrics?
- Auto scroll follows the length of the recording instead. Manual mode scrolls at a speed you set.
- Does it work without internet at the gig?
- Partly. Opening a song needs a connection, but an open song keeps scrolling if the signal drops. Mobile data works at most venues. With no signal, bring paper.
- What happens to my songs if gigbrain changes?
- Your sheets are plain text. You can copy any song out of the editor at any time. If the service changes, the app tells you first.
- Can I use it on stage without an account?
- No. The account is just your email, with no password. Sign in with a code on each device and your songbook is on your phone, tablet and laptop.
- How is it different from a chord site?
- On a chord site, the same song can look different from one visit to the next, scroll at a different speed, or forget the key you play it in. In gigbrain the sheet is yours. It looks the way you left it, scrolls in time with the recording and opens in your key every time.
- What does it cost?
- New songbooks get 14 days of Pro free, with no card. After that the free plan keeps up to 15 songs and one setlist. Pro is $44.99 a year or $5.99 a month.
- Can I share a setlist with my band?
- Yes, by link. Bandmates see the chords and lyrics and can save a copy to their own songbook.
